Help ! Hood Hinge Problem
I have a problem with my 1984 Corvette hood hinge. There are two hinges at the front of the hood with two studs and nuts on each hinge. The two studs broke off on one hinge and Chevrolet says they are part of the hood and not replaceable without replacing the whole hood (ouch!). I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with a C-4 and could offer any suggestions, and/or body shops. Thanks, RBG.

If you look closely at the studs, you will notice that they are attatched to a metal bracket that is riveted to the hood. I see no reason why a vette junkyard would not sell these to you. If the donor hood is wrecked, these can be salvaged. Also, you could fix your own by drilling out the origionals and replacing them with hardware store bolts.
