Default Fuel guage electrical problem 1992

I have been trying to figure out my fuel guage malfunction. I am not getting any power from the CCM to the fuel sending unit, tried two other CCM's, so I'm sure that is not the problem. Can anyone please help with this???, Thanks

I've done all that, the problem is the wire coming from the CCM, has no power to the rear of the car, I need to know what makes that wire get hot.

That wire does not get HOT if you will...the fuel level sender works on OHMS of resistance. 0-90>> if you unplug the fuel pump wire harness you should be able to put an OHM meter between the 2 leads and get a value between 0-90...90=FULL 0=empty.. if the number varies from what you know is in the tank then the sender is bad..

Tried that and get nothing, my service manual tells me if the harness is unpluged it should read full, mine shows empty always, the book also tells me to connect a test light between term. B & ground, test light off? Check for short to ground or replace CCM. I checked the wire all the way back to the CCM, it's good, replaced CCM also. It seems the CCM is not sending a signal out. Any more suggestions? Thanks

If it reads NOTHING and your sure there is gas in the tank then the FSU is bad...not the ccm... sounds to me like you need a new fuel sending unit..

The manual tells me with the key on and the sending unit harness unplugged, it should read full, it shows empty all the time, so the sending unit is not the problem. There are two wires going to the sending unit, one is a ground and the other has to supply power, as the manual states, I should have power to the B terminal on the harness, I'm sure the problem is the CCM is not sending a signal.

He is telling you to read the test leads on the pump/sending unit assembly itself with the harness unplugged. I realize the manual tells you that you should read full with the harness unplugud, but you could easily eliminate the sender as the cause of your problems with this test. If you have already done this, then what was the ohm value? This is how you test the sending unit, not the harness going to it. The sending unit does not get "power". It just varies resistance or "ohms" depending on the fuel level.
