Alarm going off for no reason! help
I have a '91 L98 automatic that has recently had a problem with the horn/alarm going off for no reason. It has done this over the past five days or so...going off maybe once or twice in a day. The only thing out of the ordinary that happened recently is that I took out the ECM a little over a week ago to see if my car would run with a newly acquired, used ECM. I have tried unplugging the battery to see if that reset anything but it didn't help. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I had the same thing happen due to the crazy 100+ Heat we hd last week here in CT. my alarm kept going off every few hours..
Since the weather's been a bit milder, no mroe alarm woes.
Alarms can also be triggered by a power drain, if something is shorting out I've heard..

coupe or 'vert? If a coupe, check your hatch switch, they break easily if you slam the glass down to close it or if you use a hatch vent.
For both coupes and 'verts, check the door switches as well.

i had the same problem, its your door switches. i bought 2 new ones from chevrolet and problem solved. its a common problem on corvettes as my dealer said he keeps plenty switches in stock. they were like 36.00 for both.
