1985 / 1226870 .ECU File(s)...

Who's got'em? Where can I find 'em?

I'm finally getting started on the bottom floor of this thing. I have the laptop, WinBin, WinALDL and the cable is on the way.

I have found several .bin files to start learning with but I need the right .ecu file for WinBin to examine the tables. (I think)

Is it 1$F that I need? Is there another name for the .ecu file I need?

Any help...any at all...even the smallest tidbit is greatly appreciated!

You could also pop your chip into a burner and read it & save it.

There is no ecu file for the 870 ecm. Tunercat is the only one who has a definition file.

You are almost better off doing the 7165 swap rather that fooling with the 870 ECU.

I'm thinking I'll be making that swap soon enough. But for now I'm content to keep my learning curve linear. One thing at a time.

Tunercat is your only option. Believe me, I have searched EVERYWHERE for that ECU file- there isnt one available for free. You'll need to pay for tunercat or spend similiar money on doing the 165 swap.
