Finaly got the EM Headers in. Now for the hard part. In the instructions, seas to raise the car at least 36" off the ground. Does it realy have to be that high off the ground or do they just say that to make it an easier install. I have ramps that are about 12" tall. Do you think that will be enougth. How have other's done the install without a lift.
Allso whats the part # for the Mr. gasket header Gaskets.
Just installed my EMs today, it did not seem like I needed 36"m however, I used a lift. It will be running tomorrow. I used Percy's Header gaskets and ARP bolts (I don't like the ARPs and will change them when I get my head work done.)
My EMs fit well and I did not have to dimple anything to get them to fit. I did break my coolant temp sensor while removing the passenger side exhaust manifold. That was a 26 dollar mess-up
Good luck on your install.

That's not even a good idea for them to suggest unless someone has a way to safely raise a car that high. 18" would be overkill, it just doesn't take much room to slide them up in there. With the plugs and temp sensor out of the heads they go right in.
What didnt you like about the ARP bolts. I was planing on using those.
I like ARP bolts, I use the 3/8 or you can use the 5/16 socket headed bolts along with a set of high collar lock washers behind the bolts. Mine have been on the car for 2 years and I have never had any leaks or loose bolt issues. The high collar lock washers are available at most well equipped hardware stores or bolt and nut supply stores. You can get them in SS to match the ARP bolts.
