Default Engine combo question.

Hello.

Right now i use a lt1 intake ( converted ), a hot cam with 1:6rrs, hooker headers and CNC ported TF 23 heads.

I have made a 12.91@107mph with this combo.
I whant more and I whant more lower in the rpm range.

I know the lt1 intake is a high rpm intake.
What should I change to? Superram? Bigmouth/LTR ?

And is there a "off shelf" cam that make a bit more power then the hotcam ? WHat about the cc 306 cam, whill that work with the superram well?

This is a weekend warrior so i dont care about emmisons idle quality etc.

thanks..

It sounds to me like you want the best of both worlds which really can't be accomplied on a heads / cam car. Anything you do to improve your low end is going to cost you on the high end.

The CC306 cam will make a lot of HP but it will chew up a ton of torque down low. If you don't like the low end of the hot cam you'll absolutely hate the cc306.

Yeah you wont like the 306 any better at all. If you go with SR you'll lose the very top-end, and then you can go with a 74219 cam thats made for it.

If you wanted a little of both, the only real option is the StealthRam, but it doesnt fit under stock hoods. Its not a screamer like the MR/LT1 but it should do better at top end than SR.

OK i see..

How would the car behave if i keep the hotcam, but go with the superram? Whill that change the torque curve anything at all?

I will assume that you still have the 3.45 rear gears. You may be able to get what you are looking for by switching to a gear more suited to the Hotcam. 4.10's for instance may help, and you can still have high speed capability. It's just a thought.

Yes I thougt about that to...

My car starts to pull after 3500rpm and is strongest between 4000rpm and 6500rpm. Is that normal for a hotcamed lt1intake car?
