Default LTx supercharger kit for LESS

I know, I know
if it aint a Vette it aint SHette...

however, what is the differnce in supercharger kits from Vortech.

for a F-body its 3500-$4K forthe Vette it's nearly $5k? WTF? (and I don't mean White Trash Ferrari... f-n moostangs...

If I buy a SOS kit, how much fabricating should I expect?

By the way, does anyone use a standalone ECU on their 94+ c4?

'fraid to ask in the ZR1 forum, but do you know of any success/failures (right) for standalone swaps for the lt5 system? (AEM, Haltech, etc?)

The ZR1 / LT5 is a simple OBD1 system, is'nt it?

The ZR1 series ECMs can be considered OBD1, in fact the same ECM was is used from 90 and up now. But one CANNOT say its a simple ECM the fuel strategies in these engines are very complex. Because of the dual fuel pump, dual injector, secondary valve systems that are in these cars. I doubt very much that you can get a Haltech or other aftermarket ECM to control the LT5 engine.

The C4 Vortech kits uses a reverse rotation blower. I can't say why they charge so much more for the kits than for a F body. I know there are several more parts involved in the vette kit. Personally I think its a demand issue, they sell a lot more F body kits than Y body kits that I know. As far as a DIY kit, well if you got the time and money anything is possible. You could just purchase the blower and the mounting brackets from Vortech or you can go to the for sale forum now as there is a used C4 kit for sale there.
