Strange issue

Today I had the check engine light come on while I was driving. When I got home I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery. Let it sit for ten min then plugged it back in. Hoping that it was just a fluke. Drove it around some more and noticed that my fuel range was steadily increasing. It got to about 334 which is normal on full tank of gas for the car, but then it kept increasing and is now at 415. If I come to a stop sometimes it will drop to 398 but that is still way to high. What could be wrong?

Nothing. A full tank of fuel should go around 400 miles at 20 MPG.

Did you check for any codes? Checking codes is the first step in troubleshooting the SES Light.

Mine would read into the 400 range for a bit on a full tank of gas.

Well let me post my mods just to let yah know that the gas milage shouldnt be that high. Im waitin to see if the light comes back on. Check my sig for mods.

Maybe you are getting good milage right now and the computer is upping the estimate. You could hammer on it a little and see if the range estimate drops

Ported out to match stage to heads...more air flow. The milage dropped a little back down to 345. Service engine light hasnt come back but im sure it will tomorrow.
