Default 1992 Electrical or?

Hello all,

Yes I'm the new guy here and what I am looking for is ANYONE having any experience with solving the dreaded code 72 for the serial data problem... I've been through all the tests, trials, known "good used component" with no help. It keeps losing serial data when scanning it. After run for approx. 4-5 minutes communication goes away then will not come back till it sits overnight. Any help would be appreciated-

My 1992 had code 72 problem and it turned out to be the ECM. Mine would flash "SYS" on the fuel information area while driving. If you shut it off when it was doing that it would not restart until it cooled off. I also got a fuel cutoff code (41 or 54??).

What happens is the ECM gets hot and has a problem. Then it has to cool off to work properly. I replaced my ECM with a remanufactured one from Mid America for about $130 and it solved the problem.
