Hang it from a string a whack it with a wrench. it should ring nice and clear. If not you have a crack for sure. If it does, your still not out of the woods yet. it just means there could be a really small crack 
For the $75 Id buy a top quality SFI approved flexplate. ever see one come apart? lets just say that 1/4 of fiberglass won't save your leg.
Im armoring my tunnel with a transblanket (twin disk/6sp) Ive seen it first hand, it's not cool.
