Weird noise from tranny
i've got a 1991 vette with a peice of **** 700R4 in it. when i hold it in lower gears or leave it O/D and open it up, she makes this weird vibration every few seconds and only last for a second or two. i'm guessing its the torque converter but not sure. i've got 35,000 miles on a rebuilt tranny and about 4,000 on a motor. can anybody confirm this or tell me what it is?

Sorry to have to say this but odds are that a tranny rebuild is in the near future for you. Mine started making strange noises and others told me the same thing. Then it would not shift out of 2nd.

oh, i know a rebuild is in the future. this tranny has givin me problems since the day i bought the car. another question, when its in O/D it goes first to second normal, but then after second it jumps into third within just a few seconds and thats normal accel. Is that something with the Tv cable needing adjusting or is it just b/c the tranny is just a p.o.s.

Yes, weird thngs can happen if the TV is not adjusted properly - burned out tranny being the worst. There is a tech tip I think on how to adjust the TV. But basically, with the engine off, you push in the tab on the TV cable holder and shove the plastic cable in as far as it will go - toward the rear of the engine. Release the tab. Then open the throttle body to WOT. You will hear the adjuster ratchet. That is pretty much it.
Make sure that nothing is restricting your TB from WOT - that was a problem I had and could never get the thing properly adjusted.
Do not try to tweak the shift with the TV cable - you will only burn out your tranny faster.
