I am interested in putting 315/35ZR-17 size tires on the rear of my '94 Convertible. With the 17" x 11" (+50mm offset/7.93" backspacing) wheel is this possible to accomplish w/o fender flares? Any help is greatly appreciated.
If that's the "gs" offset, then yes. I have them on my car. they do stick out slightly, but it's hardly noticeable..
I had them on my '92 vert. 50mm offset, you'll be fine. They do stick out ever so slightly, but you'd have to run a straightedge down the fender to the tire edge to notice!
The fender flares on the GS were a tribute to the '63 GS race car,who had flares, and also I've heard that the DOT required them b/c the edge of the tire wasn't underneath the wheel well.
