Default ? on installing Air pump eliminator kit... HELP...

HI,
I'm installing a Air Pump Pulley Eliminator Kit on my 1990 C4. My question is what to do with the 2 set of wires that went to the Check Valve box. Wuuld like some help on letting me know what to do with them, and will it hurt performance to just leave them unhooked.
Thanks, David

You should have gotten 2 rubber plugs with the kit.
Use the plugs to block the metal lines and remove everything else.
Forget about the wires do what you want with them,it will not throw any codes when they are disconected.

I cut the ends off, taped them up and tucked them into the plastic conduit with the wires going to the temp sensor on front of intake.
No codes, no visible wires

I just taped the ends of the connectors (to keep dirt out), tucked the harness under the AC compressor and tie wraped to the bracket to keep it in place.

I tie wrapped the connectors down out of sight. Just in case some time in the future they are needed again.

Ok, just let me clarify this: you do NOT need the air pump for the sniffer? Warm up doesn't matter, but I am afraid to ditch mine in case it effect emissions while the motor is running and hot.

The air pump works on start up, I think the majority if not all of the emission test done these days are done "hot" and most on a dyno at the inspection station at highway speed (at least in NJ).
My 86 runs cleaner with a tune up, a/p elim, long tubes and elims than it did with the stock parts. Oh and I do have a new 02 and catco cat installed.

Default Check Guages light comming on now...don't know why it is...

got it finished, taped the ends of connectors up and tucked then out of the way.
After driving for a little while the CHECK GUAGES light comes on, anyone know why that might be and what could be causing it.
Thanks, David

Ground the A and B terminals on the ALDL, turn the key to on(but not cranking the motor) and read the codes.

In my case, I unmounted the 2 little solenoids from the bracket and left them plugged into the harness' connectors and tucked them out of the way.

Did the kit come with plugs for the manifolds? They should be in the neighborhood of a 22 mm fine thread. I am in desperate search for a pair of these and would love to know where to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I took the one-way valve dwn to the local plumbing supply store and had them match it up. Don't quote me here, but I believe the caps were 3/4 NTP.

Default 88 model - removed pump

I just finished removing mine. Gutted the air pump so I did not have to buy the kit. Purchased two 3/4" pipe thread brass caps for plugging the Header pipes. What do you use to plug the line from the cat that is beside the header on the passenger side? Or do you just remove the line cutting it off at the cat and welding it up.
