I'm installing a Cloyes double roller on my L98 , and it doesn't seem to want to go all the way on ! Anybody else have that problem ?? Suggestions !?! HELP !
What exactly do you mean? Are you referring to the gear on the cam or crank?
Proabably the crank...did you lubricate the shaft? It is a very tight fit. I had to use, like Bogus said, something like a large socket or PVC pipe to pound against. make sure you arent setting it on the teeth of the gear. It has to go on all the way to line up right.

Veeerrryy important. Ensure that the socket is the same diameter as the gear itself. If you hammer it on by the teeth, you can easily weaken them, causing the gear to fail in a short period of time.
Also, make sure the woodruff(sp?) key is inserted correctly into the crank.
My gear went on relatively easy. You could also try heating the gear somehow and installing it onto a cold crank. Put it in a sealed ziploc bag and set it in boiling water for a few minutes to make it expand. Should go on with relative ease.
You must mean the crank gear right? You can use a balancing hub installer to press it on there if need be. I'd rather not use a hammer & socket, that could just weaken the outer area.
