I just found out that my 93 which would not pass emissions was all due to the catalytic converters are shot. The temp going in is 500 and coming out is 400 when I guess it should be hotter like 700.
They are saying $400.00 each for direct fit. The car is already loud enough due to the current aftermarket exhaust (it is stainless with dual tips, can't figure out which brand). The shop said that any high performance cat is going to make it louder again.
Does anyone have any suggestions of brands, want them to be direct fit?

Check out the Random Technology Cats for sale on TPIS website www.tpis.com. They are very good, as everyone on the forum will agree. It's the best performance cat I have seen yet.
You might try Summit Racing. They sell the CATCO brand that are direct replacements. Don't know if they have one for the 93 Vette or not, but they are good pieces at reasonable prices.
The Catco from Summit are $55 but not likely to be a direct fit.
My 2000 TPIS catalog does not list cats for Vettes beyond the '91 L98, which are around $215. You might contact TPIS so see if they now have a direct fit for '93 Vette.
I bought a Catco direct fit for my LT1 a few years back, which really was a direct fit. It was $150, but that was in 2002. While it was made to bolt right up, the bolts on the three bolt flange on the manifold side were not drilled right, I had to enlongate one of the holes so that I could get all three bolts into the manifold. Also, the holes on the other end where the cat-back bolts in were not tapped, so I had to buy bolts/nuts rather than just bolt it in using the stock bolts. Also, the case was a lot smaller than the stocker, not sure if that's good or bad.

Not true. If you read the catalog correctly, they are direct fits and they start at $55. I bought a direct fit for my '91 recently and it cost about $127, as I remember. It went right on with no problems. That doesn't mean that they indeed have a direct fit for the '93, but you can go to their website to find out for sure.

Check Carsound. They flow real good.
I don't think you'll find a direct fit, other than stock. NAPA has good replacement cats in 3" for well under $100. If you pay a muffler shop to fit them you should still be way ahead, money-wise, with a universal replacement type. Also these types are smaller, giving you more working room for changing the fuel filter and other work in those areas.
