Idling fails when hot - Corvette 89
A few weeks ago my Corvette Convertible 89 started to go bad.
When it gets hot about 200f the idling fails completely. When it runs like it should the idling will be about 700rpm, but
now it does about 1400rpms. The Instant Fuel Rate gauge also stops working when this idling thing starts.
I have had it to a mechanics and they connected a computer reader to it, but the computer didnt report any malfunctions.
Anyone had similar problems and/or possibly solutions?
Please.
Best Regards
take care of idiling-but it sounds like a heat related problem, check the connections to the IAC, you might want to check out the EGR solenoid
also-since the ECM uses information from the coolant temperature,
throttle position and manifold pressure sensors to regulate the vacuum
solenoid-sticky solenoids can cause intermittent problems.Just my .02
worth.
