Default 92 sc ati help ; )

Hello!

I'm new here, and was hoping maybe I could get some pointers. I grew up with N/A cars, then went to a 92 Dayton Iroc R/T (fun car..but pos quality wise)-so s/c is still pretty new to me. I have a question. I'm told my car makes (10?) lbs boost already (though my gauge isn't working right-i only have hte stock 8lb pulley on it-but who knows). it's a 92 LT1 Procharged Corvette. It's doing about 380/415 to the ground. Here are the specs:

-Balanced & Blueprinted 355 LT1 Procharged and Intercooled (p1sc)
• -8.9 to 1 comp ratio
• -30# SVO’s
• -CompCam Blower cam
• -Forged Pistons and H-beam rods
• -Total Seal gapless rings
• -BBK 58mm Throttle body
• -SLP Shorty Headers
• -3 inch B&B exhaust
• -Ed Wright Custom Chip
• - Dyno Tuned

My question is- what size pulley do you think I will need to get about 14psi? I am looking for a alcohol injection system suitable for my application, also-any ideas on that? Any ideas oon a better intake ( I just have a little k&n deal right now, but I kniow that's not going to be enough air for higher boost). Also, I was looking at a good deal on a 6 speed and rear dif. deal-but I'm actually thinking I want to stick to automatic- aside from a better dif. in the back, what kinds of things can I do with the automatic that I have now? A silly side question-it should get a TON quieter with different headers, but how much power do I stand to lose? Silly questions, but anything would be appreciated. I know there are alot of questions here, and that you don't know me, but anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!!

to get 14psi out of the P1 I think you gonna need 3" pulley. What size pullley do you have now?. You will need to up grade the injector to 42s or 50s. The 30s you got will not be enough for 14psi. Do you have a 6 or 8 ribs belt?? if you got a 6 rib serpentine belt, forget the 14psi because you will never ever see it. It slip.

If you are going that high you will need 10 psi of fuel presure for every 1lb of boost.
I assume you have a key way cut into the crank?

hehe..ummm... : ) not that I know of, no. Silly question...but I don't know what that is. So as far as just tossing on a 10-12 psi pulley, that's not gonna happen either?

Here is the drawing on a 8 rib belt conversion. The SC has it own belt where the the 6 ribs serpentine belt drive everything and it slip on the bottom of the crank balancer.
The pictures you see here are all custom. It has new bracket and all.

If you have a Procharger, your are on your own to make the bracket. Because no body out there make the bracket for sale. The 6+8 ribs balancer you can buy it from Blower works around $425 made by ATI performance Products. The rest of the pulleys you can pick them up at ebays for fairly cheap. Or you can send your balancer to ASP specialties have them add the 8 rib groove into your stock balancer. If you got a Vortech then it be much easier to do the conversion. ASP specialties can modify the vortech bracket and your balancer all together for the 8 rib setup. No body offer 8 rib conversion for Procharger that I know of.

if your lucky you might 6psi out of it. 92-93 are the worse one. 94-96 seems to do a little better due to the belt routing alightly different. My got a 93 and when I had my D1sc blower and the 383ci motor. I got zero boost. Yup zero boost, at wide open throttle it gone up to 4 psi and drop back to zero, becuase it slip. The more powerful motor you got the more it slip.

I have a 96 with Procharger and it doesn't slip very bad at all. Same deal 383 etc.

But how much boost are you making?

I had relatively little to no slip on the Procharger supplied brackets and pullies when I was running in the 6-8 psi range. When you increase the boost by approaching max impellor speed, the slip will begin on the 6 rib set-up.

not entirely sure. The dyno guys said I was making ten (they had to use their equipment because my boost gauge is dead), but I only have the 8psi stock pulley on there, and from what I understand, all of the gear that I've put on the car should lower it anyways.

I have Bruce's 8 rib conversion and it works like a charm.

I had to do a little custom work to get it to fit especially when getting the belt site right. I also had to fab up a wrench with a bent piece of pipe to get enough tension on the secondary tensioner but no harm there either.

Everything ended up where it needed to be.

Thanks again Bruce.
