Default Rear View Mirror removal

Any tips on removing the entire inside rear view mirror and wires on a 91 Vette.

Yeah. Don't break the windshield. That metal "shoe" that is bonded to the windshield is a bugger to get off when done right. I've heard of people using heat to get it to let go, never had any luck myself.

My mirror is not bonded to the windshield.

On my 86 its just a screw and the wire connector is behind the windshield trim.

Remove the set screw and let the mirror hang.
Drop the center of the header trim and open the connector
Remove the mirror wire from the header.
Reattach the header trim.

65Z01 is "right on" with his comments! Anyone wanting to get the bonded rear view mirror (this is not found on my C4 Vette either), use a razor blade paint scrapper. Slide the blade under the metal dohickey in multiple places and she will just fall off in your hand!
