Makeshift Tensioner Tool
This makeshift tool provided enough leverage to pull the tensioner to the stop to remove and replace the accessory drive belt on my 96 LT1.
9.5" Craftsman breaker bar with a 3/4" box end wrench slid over the end.
***Wear a glove and be sure to keep the pull in the direction of the rotation of the tensioner, so it doesn't slip.***
I hope this helps someone else out there. Spend the $70 bucks you save on buying a tensioner tool on a tank of gas...

I got a real belt tensioner tool with a bunch of attachments for $50. They ran out of the "cheap" one and sent me the expensive one for the price of the cheap one.
