Default Help, shutting down at WOT

Craziest thing. When I've just started driving (car is cooler) it'll run up to 6500 no problem. As I continue to drive, if I crack it to WOT it feels like it is shutting down and will catch again at a lower RPM. I can take the car slowly up towards redline and it will hold the rpm. But I crack it open all the way and it falls on it's face. I have datalogged and the injectors never get over 80% or so so I know they are not going static. Any ideas??? This happened at Carlisle on the dyno. First run went to 6300 no problem. Second run, shut down at 5800. Geez, I wanted to take it to the track for the first time next weekend. Nothing is easy with this car

Tape a fuel gauge onto the windshield and have someone moniter it while you take it for a good run. This might shed some light.

You don't have a setting in the software set to kill fuel at a certain RPM do you?

Wish you had the same software and version that I do.

Check all those type settings.

Default Fouled plugs?

Just a thought. Did you foul some plugs getting out of the Carlisle fairgrounds? On my way home from Carlisle, the first time I tried to pass a car I had a horrible miss. It since has cleared up.

The modded cars are not happy to get stuck in that traffic when the rain hits on Saturday at Carlisle.

I had this problem and it turned out to be clogged injectors. When you shut the car down when it's hot outside (see all summer out here) the gas evaporates and leaves behind the detergeant that is supposed to clean the injectors. This can build up over time and cause the problem you are describing.

This is by no means the first place you should look though. Injector servicing runs about 120 from witchhunter.com, I agree with the above: Start with a fuel pressure check to determine if your fuel pressure is going because of a clogged pump/fuel filter. It may be unable to provide the neccessary fuel for snap acceleration.

Pulling plugs is also a good diagnostic so check that too.

Thanks guys. I'll pull the plugs and check them out. It's wierd, it only happens sometimes. I've got the fuel cut off set at 7200. I found that the TPS parameters were not correct. WOT was actually 4.04 vs what was programmed at like 4.98. I haven't run the car since I changed that in the ECM but can't imagine that it would do it. The car literally shuts downs for two seconds like it's starved for fuel. I'll have to do the fuel pressure guage deal. Valve lash needing adjustment wouldn't cause this would it?
