Hi:
Man there is a lot of great info here. I have learned a lot. Now I have another question. I want to make sure my TV cable is adjusted right on my 93 LT1. The lable on the ASR says to see the service manual and all the cable come off the ASR so what is the correct way to adjust it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Heed the label and head HERE. It will serve you long beyond having verified the TV cable adjustment.
To do all of the cables(to TB and from the pedal) push the realease buttons on them to do this and after step 5 take the drill bit out and push the throttle to the floor to adjust them they are self adjusting.
OK here goes:
1.Take the covers off the ASR
2.Look at the pulleys you will see a 1/8in hole and a hole that takes a 1/4 drive.
3.Put a 1/8 in drill bit into the hole and through the pulleys but not over the gear drive.
4.Flip the retainer clip on the TV cable
5.Turn the pulley ~1/8 turn and put a Torque wrench(set to 8nm/71inlbs) with a 1/4in extension into the square 1/4 drive hole.Torque to 8nm and clip the TV cable while holding the torque. There will be some clicking when you torque the pulleys.
Now after all this was done I still had to adjust it a little outward to get it Exactly right.Mabey a torque wrench issue being too tight but had to loosen it about 1/8 inch to get the shifts right.
