this chart disagree's with you, it is dead on when it comes to my car.
the chart says u were doing around 128mph in 4th at 6200rpm's....
the chart also states a ZF6 with a 3.73 at 100-102 mph is around 5000, which is way past the L-98 power band. so like i said that is too much gear for a stocker.
There is a formula (I sure as h3ll don't know it) where you can plug in your RPM, tire diameter, gear ratio, etc. and come up with a MPH for any given combo. The MPH can help you target what 1/4 times you might expect from the different gear ratios.
How can U not know. How about the ones asked? Do U need to go private to justify statements made on the open forum?
RACE ON!!!
sorry man, u lost me. i stated that the 3.73 or a 4.10 is not good for 1/4 mile racing if he decided to do that. i dont analze post, and nick pick. plan and simple that is alot of gear for an L-98.........what do u mean about private statements to justify something? i dont know what questions you have of me.....i think i stated 2-3 times in this post about the gears. does not get any simpler then that.
if u want to ask me out, the answer is no!!
ah that last line was inappropriate, i take that back. i guess i thought it was funny last night when i was tired.

Thanks all for your input, I too was thinking both gear ratio's, that 5th gear comes into play, the performance shop feels it wouldn't just on the street it would. To answer the mod question, 1.6 rr, Cam, SuperRam, injectors, long tube headers, hvwp and chip made for performance application. Project is to be done and dyno'd by Thursday/Friday and will check the track out the following weekend. (Leaning towards the 3.73 though). Great stuff guys...
I think 4.09. I'd be really surprised if you lost more than a tenth at the track. Just hang on in 4th and let it pull out of the power band for half a second.
If you want the car to "feel" faster, deeper gears are the way to go IMO. I'm going 4.09 in my L98 ZF6.
