Does anyone know if injectors from an LS1 motor will work in a L98? I just bought a set of 26# injectors off ebay for $52.00. The seller said they had less then 4000 on them. I want to put them in my 383 that I am building. I know the retainer clips won't work but doesn't the fuel rail actually hold them in? They are part #12555894. FiveO Motorsports say they are 26lbs/hr-4 bar injectors for 1999-2001 Corvette LS1.
Here is what they look like according to the picture on FiveO's webpage
They will work fine but you may want to machine down the fuel rail mounting bosses on the intake...about .070-.080" should do it. The LS1 injectors are a hair shorter than the stock TPI injectors.
They work fine, when installed in a L98 with 43.5 PSI (3 bar) rail pressure the injectors flow about 24lb/hr. I just tuned a fellow forum members car last week with the same injectors installed in a 383.
I ran them in my lightly modded L98 but had to pull them due to rich condition that I could not correct via the AFPR.
I cut a clip ring groove around the injector body about 1/8"-1/4" above their stock groove; this allowed them to seat deep enough into the intake base and seal well at both the fuel rail and the intake base.
It would seem to me that 24# would be too low for a 383 especially if it has much of a cam, reprogrammed ecm, intake, exhust etc Seems like it would cause a lean condition if pushed hard like test and tune etc
There is a formula somewhere for determining injector size I remember seeing it but dont know where
There are many people on this forum who know a lot more about this than I do
Just my .02

I am planning on putting them in my 383. I have an AFPR on this car. Where should I set the fuel pressure at?
