I think it is the EST circuit. Might be indicative of bad distributor module, some one disconnecting and reconnecting the EST wire to set timing or something like that.
Is it a constant (hard) code? Is the SES light lit all the time?
It is the est code. And yes the light comes on instantly most of the time. But this code doesn't always show.I ran the codes sitting and driving yesterday. Will an eratic idle caude this code to set. Also has a 25.MAT.
Poor performance doesn't cause codes to be set. Performance BECOMES poor because of a malfunction. Many times that malfunction will cause a code to be set. Remember, when a given device sends a code, it doesn't necessarily mean that the sensor is bad. Don't shoot the messenger. Trouble shoot the code as per the chart(s) in your factory service manual.
I know! What I'm saying is can the poor idle cause other sensors(Messengers)to malfunction etc.
It is entirely possible that a performance problem has more than one cause. And it IS possible that out of perameter conditions can cause other (temp, for instance) problems to occure. Systematic trouble shooting should lead to the discovery and allow for the corrections for ALL the faults.
One more time, for good measure. Remember, when a given device sends a code, it doesn't necessarily mean that the sensor is bad. Don't shoot the messenger. Trouble shoot the code as per the chart(s) in your factory service manual.
