Try to installed a new set of wiper blades refill and now there hitting the top of my hood. I got a second set from a different suppler and they hit to. I thinking maybe it my hood . It could be my stops need back out The vette is 9 years old and maybe the stop are worn down . As anyone else gone threw this issue ? All suggestion are welcome
I to have the same problem on my 96 black LT4. I just got them from a dealer to pass inspection and they are hitting the hood. Pain in the neck. They are to thick. You have to find a narrower pair. I am going to look tomorrow. Good Luck
Advance has some teflon ones that work I have them on my car and they work great.I had to replace the drivers arm as it was just plain worn out.Guess I should do the pass side too.....
But if you want to re-use the arm and keep the original assembly, are there just the wiper inserts besides $14 at Chev parts? Or do you have to replace the whole arm with a Trico or Teflon in order to be able to eventually just replace the inserts?
In my case the arms had lost their spring and would not press the blades down enough to get a clear wipe. The Blade came in an assembly that cliped on the arm that was the same height as the OEM.
I want to thank everyone for the help. Turn out that the blades that were on my vette were some kind of after market brand .
This was causing me all of the problems. I have just put a set on from GM and they work with no hitting the hood . I also got a set of Teflon refill that will work just fine. I"ll keep them until the stock blades need replaced
