Curious, oil change without filter change
Hey guys, just something i was wondering and for my information, if you changed oil in an L98 and you didnt change the oil filter, how many quarts do you put back in?

I always change my filter when changing the oil but the reason you can get away with doing it every other change is this. Oil is designed to suspend the carbon it accumulates in the oil. When you drain 80-90% of the oil out you are removing the most of the carbon. It is assumed the filter still has enough life left in it to go another round. That is why most manufactures only recommend filter change every other oil change.
