Default Rear Brake Job Question

When replacing the rotor on a 1994 LT1, do you remove the parking brake spring, if so how? or do you deactivate the parking brake adjuster to slacken the cable as per the manual? If the proper procedure is to slacken the cable, please tell me the trick. I have got the parking brake cover off and cannot see how this is done. Please help!!!

When I did rear rotors & pads on my '88 I just used a pair of plyers and muscled the spring off without touching the parking brake lever mechanism. I believe there are brake tools that would ease the job of removing/replacing the spring.

There is a tool that is available at all good parts stores and you will recognize it when you see it. When I did mine, I used an old set of pliers-- the old way when you don't have special tools.

Thanks, I thought fooling with the parking brake adjuster was the wrong way to go.
