Headlight Delete

Well, I'm interested in how this works.
Can I buy brighter bulbs for my fog lights that will allow me to see well enough...
I live in VA, is that legal???
if anyone has any answers please let me know... i've searched the forums and can't find this anywhere...
Thanks
Cody

No, I'm in SW VA... middle of nowhere Appalachians.... hahaha..
the reason i was asking is becuz my headlights on my 89 don't go up and down, and as far as I can tell its the actuator module (no power getting to the motors)... and i'm really not able to afford a cosmetic fix like that right now (i can leave em up and get by), but i thought if I could get a brighter bulb and use the fogs instead I could just remove the headlights and motors and save some weight and get the closed light look, like i want.... hehehe
btw, where is the actuator module located... i've traced wires and looked on the net, and even looked in a Haynes manual and I can't locate it...
thanks guys

You need:
two 885 bulbs
Swap a 15 amp fuse for the 10 amp fuse in the tail lamp circuit.
Good luck
You can manually open the headlights!! On my car the Motor/Actuator mechanism is located on the inboard side of each headlight assembly. Just turn the **** on the top of the actuator and the headlight should begin to move.
Good luck.

The lens for the fog lamps is designed to spread the light pattern low and over a wide area. I don't think that they have the ability to project light forward much more than a hundred feet.
You might consider something like the Hella H4 lamp conversions. Its a glass housing that simply replaces the existing headlamp and it uses a replaceable bulb. There are a wide variety of H4 bulbs in Halogen or Xenon that have wattages fanywhere from 85/55 (low/high) to 140/100. The glass lens is cut to provide an excellent driving beam especially in bad weather conditions. I had them on my 92 and high beam at night on a dark road was like driving during daytime.
Even though the housing is glass, as long as the gears in the headlamp motors are in good shape, they will not cause any issues with opening/closing.
