ECM vs PCM? Data scanning problems!
What is the difference between an ECM and a PCM?
Do cars have both?
I just bought a 1990 Corvette and I'm having trouble connecting to datamaster.
I can get the ALDL test to work. The cable looks good. Once I even got the cable to connect, but datamaster + freescan both said: "unknown PCM"
(was using the DM32x8D version of datamaster)
I haven't been able to get it to reconnect. Apparently, this car has a piggyback eprom with a custom chip from blowerworks. Any ideas?
