Default LT1 to LT4 engine swap

Hi, I just got a lt4 complete engine and I'm cleaning it up and putting a new cam and lifters in and I noticed the crank position sensor,(I knew this motor has one but just forgot). My question is if I put this engine in my 1994 corvette with my computer and wire harness do I have to hook that up or can I just leave it alone. thanks for your help. jeff

You can just leave the crank position sensor alone. Your 1994 PCM won't know anything about it.

I actually removed mine when I was putting a double roller chain on it because it would not fit. Your computer doesn't know about it so just leave it disconnected and all will be well. What cam are you putting in it? And you know of course this is the best time to get the heads done as well...and maybe some machine work for a 383 or 396...and of course some nice long tube headers...and then...oh well, you get the idea!

This might sound stupid and you might think I'm an idiot but I just took out my 396 stroker lt1 motor to replace it with the lt4 motor.I had the 396 in for 4 years and it's built using all the good stuff, best time all motor is a 10.9 et and that was with drag radials, so the thing is it's way to fast for my wife to drive and she's complained since the first day I started to do work on it.So I plan on getting another vette to put my 396 back in.I bought this vette brand new and it only has 20,000 miles so I figured I would do a motor swap and keep it mint. thanks jeff
