Not sure what that is, however I did try to check VSS.
Using a Snapon scanner,(Tech 1A will also work) went to the ABS module, brake sensor readings and watched all four corners while driving(rural highway of course), then compared to the speedometer reading. It is usually within one or two MPH>
My helms manual tells to test this sensor I need a " Signal Generator Tester J 33431-b" or equivalent. Does anybody know what the equivalent might be?
I've never actually looked at the signal from the VSS, but logic tells me it is a sine-wave signal that varies the frequency with speed.
Assuming that is true, the VSS is a signal generator itself.
And, any signal generator that produces a variable amplitude and frequency sine-wave could be used to imitate the VSS signal for trouble-shooting purposes.
I, too, have viewed the VSS signal output with the Tech-1a as the post above stated.
