Default Bolt Size in lowering kit -

could anyone tell us the size of these bolts vendors are charging us 40 bucks for - i would like to pick up a couple before i remove mine - i would guess these are at least grade 8 - what is the length and the size - - thanks - t

yes you want grade 8. i have seen them 10" long. not sure of diameter to get, but you could measure the stock ones. funny how place charge so much for easy things like bolts?? get ploy bushing while your at it..

For the 39 bucks you also get wedges for the front. The big mailorder companies charge less than 20 bucks for just the bolts.


The stock bolts are about 9 1/4 inches long from end to end and 1/2 diameter.Mike

So when you are lowering what do you do to drop it a inch? Put the nuts on the bolts a inch lower or somthing like that?

Go to Fastenal.com and order the bolts and nuts: Grade 8
Bolt HEXBLT 1/2 - 13X10 p/n: 15233
nuts FHN 1/2 - 13 yz8 P/N: 36410

2 BOLTS AND 4 NUTS - $14.74

you can even get an 11 or 12 inch bolt for an even lower effect. I changed from a 10" to a 12" bolt later, sorry can't find that part number, but you get the picture
