I have a 93 and I need a Clutch. The Throw Out bearing is noisy so I am replacing the clutch. Now the question is that the clutch doesn't slip and I have no vibration. The car has 91K on it. I plan on driving a couple thousand miles a summer here in WI. Do I really need to replace the Flywheel? At $650-1000 dollars it seems that a guy can wait since I do all my own work. I have read on this forum that the flywheel is good for 120K. I don't plan on thrashing this Vette (that is what my highly modified 71 is for) it is a cruiser. So it will be 10 years before I have that kind of mileage on it. I just bought the car and it seems pretty clean and doesn't seem to have been beat on. So what do you guys think? Should I risk it?

There is a check you do to test the damper. It's in the service manual, something like turn the 2nd mass to the left, put a mark across both masses, turn the 2nd mass to the right and measure the gap between the marks. I can't remember the tolerance and my Service Manual is not handy. If I remember it's just over an inch - but don't quote me on that.
If the above test passes, and there are no heat cracks/bluing, I would reuse it myself. Just deglaze it with some coarse sandpaper and a palm sander. Do not turn it - if it's bad replace it.
