I am getting ready to install my Hooker Super comp headers. My car is a 92. I was wondering if i needed to worry about the lt4 knock sensor upgrade for my car. I notice all of the listings have them listed for cars 1994-1996 (mass air cars) .. My car being speed denisity , i did not know if i needed to worry about it.
I did not use an LT4 knock sensor during my header install. If you use roller rockers the LT4 module is recommended by many due to the chance of the roller rockers generating a false knock count and costing power due to timing retard.
The LT4 knock module will only work in the 94-96 cars. Prior to 94, there was no removable KM.
So if the timing becomes a problem due to the ECM getting false readings from the knock sensor.....you can have your ECM reprogrammed (cannot be flashed like a OBDII) ....
