These are pretty good intakes for all but the most radical of applications, in my belief. I had mine fully ported when the heads were done and I'm not even sure that was necessary. The overall results for the top end package were very good though, so I don't guess it hurt anything.
Edelbrock tried to make a LT1 intake several years ago (I only ever saw it advertised in an old Eckler's catalog) but it didn't deliver! They were unable to improve it over the factory piece (they claimed something like "25 HP increase" but it never took off). TPIS makes a Mini Ram for the LT1, but I think it is intended for wilder, big inch strokers, and will cost you some bottom end and driveablility. I would port match the runners on the stock intake and open up & blend the entry area inside the front of the intake (behind throttle body) as much as possible. It will be easier if you have enlarged the throttle bore area for a larger throttle body.
I don't think they list them in their catalogs, and they probably don't have any sitting on the shelf. But, since they (TPIS) machine the intakes using cast cores on their own CNC mill, they simply size the ports, and bolt angles, for an LT1 and don't put in any provisions for the water outlet. They may or may not consider it a custom offering, but it requires all the extras the other Mini's require, making it an expensive set-up for 15 or so HP, way up in the top end, over a mildly ported stock intake.
