Default Throttle Body Spacer?

Has anyone ever tried the Throttle Body Spacer? I have an '88 L98 with a stock TB. I found one at Ecklers for $120, but I'm not going to buy it if it does squat. If anyone HAS tried it, do you know where to get it for cheaper? Other spacers for other cars sell for about $60-$90.

Thanx in advance!

I wouldn't put it on my vehicle. Save your $ for a tuneup or a stage 2 shift kit. It's horsepower gains are minimal, at best.

Also, I remembered you saying your '88 cranks a couple seconds before firing over. Try a new fuel pump regulator, or a ignition tuneup

I've been considering an ignition tune up, but I have all of this brake work, which has to be done 1st. I was just trying to see if I could get some work done for what little $ I'll have left over this week =D lol Thanx!

I guess since nobody seems to find it useful, I'll completely forget about it. Figured it was a long shot, since there's only so much you can do to a TB. I figured it'd be about the same feedback as the air foil =P

Thanx to all!

Get a throttle body spacer, but insert some nitrous nozzles into it for some real speed enhancement!

I suggest you spend the extra cash on new caliper bolts & washers, caliper pins & C-clips, anti rattle pads/compound and the like.
Also, buy some extra brake fluid and bleed the entire system of old fluid.

If you want to do some engine work consider the:
-TB coolant bypass
-cut back spark plugs
-toss the frisbee from the water pump pulley
-cut the air filter lid

If you already have a few air flow mods done to your '88, an AFPR would be a good idea for some tuning ability.

I have the TB Coolant Bypass and Cut Air Lid. I can't get the frisbee off, since I don't have an air compressor to power my impact wrench =( & I've heard about the cut back spark plugs, but I'm not sure how to do that..

The nuts on the frisbee are pretty small, you could probably get them off with a multi tool or pliers. A good ole cresent wrench would do the trick for sure. For the plugs, click on 65Z01 sig. I think his webpage shows how to do that.

When I first got the vette I was suckered into buying one.

I have to admit it works damn well....

You should not need impacts those bolts are only at about 25 ft/ pounds a socket w/breaker bar should be fine, or leave breaker on , hold it put a big screwdriver across 2 of the bolts hold w/one hand break w/other
Yes 65zo1 hsa spelled that stuff out real well in his site
spend the money on the parts you need first, later if you want to make real power take things in steps, exhaust, trans mods., intake, heads, cam, etc..one thing certain all those weird things wont give you a seat of the pants speed.......EXCEPT for something like Daves no2 set-up

Getting the firsbee is really simple. I got mine of with a quarter inch drive socket wrench. If you have trouble, PB Blast the S**t out of it.

It's complete crap. Misapplied theory in the wrong place on the wrong type of intake.

tpi's don't need a longer intake tract between the TB and the heads. its worthless, it worked well on my Tahoe, but not on the vette

Buy it, and while you are at it get the "heat insulation plates " being flogged on eBay .
They go between the heads and intake and keep all the heat off your manifold for better performance!
Too bad about all the hot oil splashing underneath the manifold.
