if you want power, either build it right from the inside out by doing cam/heads/intake/exhaust. and maybe more cubes. otherwise you're jerking yourself around and getting nowhere fast. fast & fun comes does not come in a $50 trinket.

Thanx in advance!

if you want some real HP numbers. Add some Vinyl. Depending on the size, it can add close to 50 RWHP. Now dont get me started on neon lights and the cool little dice you can hang from your rear veiw mirror... The possibilities are endless from there.

if theres a style of car i hate, it would be ricers and tuners. Cheap peices of japanese plastic hardware with their weedwacker mufflers and huge wings that create drag and lifts the front up on front wheel drive cars.

REeally, what would the purpose of the TB spacer be? Is it supposed to be a decoration of some sort? What is theory behind having one? Just curious...

I think the basis was to extend the effective "runner" length on carbed and TBI cars. It's been around longer than fuel injection. The longer this distance below the butterflies is, the more developed and balanced flow you get to the cylinders, ie... better and more balanced volumetric efficiency. Note that there is no plenum on these types of intakes.

Now... the MPFI... adding a spacer only increases the size of the plenum slightly. Notice how no care is taken to make the plenum aero-friendly... wierd casting features everywhere, is perpendicular to the runners... look at the superram, it's just a big misshaped box. The plenum's job is only to provide a large air volume at a consistent pressure for the entrance of every runner tube. The shape and aero inside it is not important. This helps the cylinder 5&7 inversion on most 90* V8s. (On SBFs, this would be the #7,8 cylinders, firing order is actually the exact same, just labelled different)

So... if you were to try and fab a spacer for mpfi cars, it'd have to extend the length of each individual runner. But, you already have established flow with such long runners, that you're well beyond the point of diminishing returns.
