Default New engine base questions

World's 427 short block sold on Jegs for $4796

Has anyone went this way?
Down side issues? Besides cost.....
Will I have troubles getting the harmonic balancer to fit?
What cam to stick in there and still be streetable... ie (A/C)?
Thanks ......

I have raced this size of stroker engine and have found it to be one of the best combinations. The only downside would be that you are locked into running the parts that they put into it. For a serious effort better guts and possibly a better block would be needed but for a street set up the factory stuff is OK. Most of these are internal balanced so your stock balancer will fit. As for the camshaft I would run a solid roller that is fairly aggressive. These large cube strokers really have a way of softening a camshaft so think large. If you want specific cam details let me know and I may have one that would work very well if you are interested.
