I have been trying to fix a crusie control problem for a while now with no luck. I get nothing. No light, no nothing. I changed the actuator under the hood, all of the hoses and the vacume switch on the pedel assy. Anybody got any idia's? Multifunction switch??? HELP???
On the 6 speed there is a kill switch on both the clutch pedal and the brake pedal, as well as a vacuum dump on the brake pedal. With either of the kill switches reading the pedal down you get no light.
The procedure in the shop manual has you going to the passenger side of the dash to access the back of the cruise module to read voltage on pins. There was tech tip in Corvette Fever this month that tells you what pins to read voltage directly on the pins of the kill switches beneath the driver side of the dash. Either procedure is a bitch to get into the area of the dash where you need to read the pins.
I had to go through this on my 94 6 speed after a clutch master cylinder replacement. That's how I know a misadjusted kill switch will make the whole function just plain dead.
Buy the electrical diagnosis service manual supplement from GM for your year vette. This manual has a diagnostic procedure for the cruise control, a schematic diagram, and a description of the location of the components of the cruise control. Its tons cheaper than replacing parts and hoping your cruise control will then work!

There are two switches off the brake pedal, one dumps vacuum so the cruise servo can't control the throttle and the other kills the cruise control electronically. The electronic kill , if misadjusted, prevents the cruise control from ever engaging at all, so you wouldn't get the light on the display. You need to check voltage on certain pins either on the back of the switches or on the cruise module in the dash. The factory service manual has you check these signals at the cruise module under the dash behind the fuse panel, on the passenger side.
