My power steering pump for some time now has been making the loud feedback noise when turning into parking spots. Its kind of annoying and sounds like junk. The steering yesterday in my car though all of a sudden got insanely loose out of no where. Could that be because of the pump going out? I know the sound is the pump....but what abou the loose steering? I know when you lose power steering the wheel is hard to turn when parked....but what about extremely loose when driving. Should I replace the power steering pump and how much will that be?

Mine does that when the fluid is low. LT-1 and LT-4 are notorious for having a leak in the main fluid line from the pump to the rack. The GM replacement lines don't work very well either. I recently replaced mine with a DRM power steering line. Things seems fine with it now.
I can replace the pump from Advance Auto Parts for $25 due to a $50 core. I will also take it that I will have to buy a pressure hose, return hose, and new filter. How do I go about replacing all of this? No way im paying for a mechanic.
or
Should I just wait until the power steering pump dies completely? ....who knows may take months and I will save money.

Mine has done that too. Not a low fluid condition, so I figured it must be boiling the fluid. Only does it when warm.
After running Mobil syn, and a cooler, it still happened. Seems like the pump is either damaged or otherwise drawing in air or causing the fluid to cavitate, which is what makes it sound like it's pumping gravel.
