Default Distributor question ,help !

Just got a Performance Distributor , DUI , from Mid America and found out when I was going to install it's not legal in Calif. Any body know if Accel cap , rotor , and super coil will fit and work to get through smog inspection , or do I have to buy or borrow a stocker to get by and then put the good one back in ? Or should I sell the one from M A , and get something else ? HELP !

Just the cap, rotor and coil? You shouldn't have any problems passing with those. I've got a super coil and it came with a C.A.R.B. exemption sticker for it.

I know the Accel Super coil and cap are carb eo # approved , but the distributor from Mid America is not . My question is , will the accel parts fit on the distributor from Perfomance Distributor ? They're coil / cap is not EO #ed . I can't see buying another whole distributor unless there is no alternative . Does anyone have one of these distibutors , is it worth the money I put out for it ?

Why not just put your old one back on for smog if it still works?

I agree with 86Pacer, you can always swap back later.

Are there any very distinctive markings on the DUI??

I just noticed that the only markings are on the top and the plenum tail piece will cover that...fogedaboudit.

A visual shouldn't be a problem since the whole thing sits under the plenum extenstion.

Especially if the accel cap and rotor are on they wont even know the type of distributor. The kid running the test will more than likely be happy he is getting to inspect a corvette
