i have a set already - but man are they cryptic - there is almost TOO MUCH detail in them - if that's even possible.
besides the fact that i don't have a scanner or laptop application that works with my '92 - it makes things that much harder - and yeah, i'm a bit lazy too!!!!
I hear ya. You can pick up a Autoxray scanner @ Kragens for about $150. It gives you real time sensor data etc. That along with your Helms and a DVM, you can trouble shoot most of the electricts.

My Helms has trouble shooting charts associated with each of the trouble codes. You just perform one operation after another, step by step. The two components in question could have verified, before you started pitching money, first, by checking them with your DVOM. In this case, you didn't even need the Helms. The operation of the ECT sensor and the TPS could have been easily checked. Someday "throwing money at it" is going to cost more than $7.00.
Try Ben Watson's Chevy Fuel injection - I picked it up at Borders. It tells you how it all works and has plenty of tips to troubleshoot without using a scanner. Use it, and the schematics in your Helms, and you should be able to figure most things out on your '92 or any injected car.(and then of course you will be able to offer all of us advise when we need it).
