Default 1992 stereo

I am trying to get a standard delco stereo working in a car that used to have a bose system fitted . Does anybody know the location of the amplifier relay that will probably require disconnecting When plugged in as soon as i turn on the radio the 10 amp fuse blows ,does anybody know why this is ?

keeping the amp active should not blow the fuse just because you turn the system on. i would suspect a short somewhere first.

anyway, if it is the amp, i don't remember if the relay for the is dedicated for the amp only. if not, you need to disconnect the amp itself. the amp is in the passenger side of the dash. it is barely accessible by removing the knee bolster panel and reaching it from underneath. it is a silver box about 1/2 or 3/4 the size of a VHS tape.

not exactly the info you are looking for, but i hope it helps.

ukvet - you didn't see my post.

the headunits on all 1990-1996 Vettes are stupid.

the brains comes from the receiver module. any head unit can fit... just keep the receiver module and you still have bose.

at this point, your best bet is to loose the delco/bose systems and go full aftermarket.
