Default Cooling fan

I need some help guys, I have a 95 vette LT1, I was wondering what temp. does the cooling fan come on? The temp gauge on the dash read 215 a few times I don't think I heard the fan come, But then it goes back to 194, is this normal? Thanks for your help,

By no means an expert, new owner of a 96 LT4 myself. But from what I have read here over the last month, what you are seeing is normal for these cars. Mine does the same thing.
Here's what I did to make sure everything was working right.
1. Turn on a/c -- do fans come on then? Mine do
2. When temp reaches approx 227 -- do fans come on then? Mine do.

It seems then LT1 - LT4 engines like these temps. Even though I was not used to seeing anything this high in other cars.

Hope this helps.

I had the same issue. I also have a 95 LT1 and fans kicked in around 230. I changed to Hypertech 160 Thermostat and installed a Coolant Fan Switch from www.ecklers.com ( 1984-95 GMP 200º Low Temperature Cooling Fan Kit Part# 40290 ).
This worked like a charm. I'm very happy with this. No problems what so ever. The fans kick in around 200.
