Default Random Technology Two Cat X Pipe Setup!

Just reviewing my November Car Craft magazine and see Random Technoloy has a Dual Cat X Pipe for C4's.

Looks like a decent setup to mate with headers with the cats behind the x pipe and flows all they way to the rear mounted mufflers.

They show prices of ~$710 for SS and ~$650 for coated.

No images that I could find...LINK

Interesting...

There has been some interest in the Random system
here on the forum

In case you missed them, these posts might be useful

Putting a custom "true dual"

Looking for price on random c4 dual system

I am hoping that Stainless Works and Random Tech
may agree to collaborate so RT can offer up a
fitment for the SW headers on my '89. I emailed
Al and Scott at SW recently to ask about what it
would take to make this happen. RT already
indicates they have configurations for TPIS, Hooker
and Melrose headers.

I inquired to them about the system and this is what I got back:
"The system uses 3" pipes through the converters and tapers down to 2-1/2" on
the outlet side of the converters. In addition to the "X-back" portion of
the system, you'll also need adapter pipes to connect to the headers. We currently offer these pipes for Melrose and Hooker headers. A photo is attached."

In the picture the x-pipe is where the resonator was and the cats are behind the x-pipe between the seats and storage bins. I guess they are assuming you are using o2 simulators for the rear o2 sensor(s)

I looked at that, but since the parts are slip fit (bigger) on inlet, smaller on outlet (all tubes, cats), it allows to install the cats first, then "X" then the neck down tubes to rear. I don't have it up in the car yet but I don't see any reason why it would not work this way, and will be installing it this way. Length still remains the same to rear regardless of order in the x or cats.

Slalom4me posted the links when jeff first posted those pic.s if you look closely you will see that the "necked "down part begins after the last pipes slip fitting. All parts except the last tube out are 3". Also there are no 02 sensors on a L98 there, it is up on the drivers side front by the motor. the only thing there stock is the A.I.R. tube to the original main cat.
