I'm attempting to learn how to tune my own calibrations, in part by comparing a stock BIN with some modified ones I have. I've got an 86 4+3, which I'm told uses the $32 ECU. I've got a couple questions about labels and such I'm seeing using TunerPro. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory, but some aren't.

1. Why do I see a lot of "Item Not Defined" entries when I do a diff between two BINs? Is it just that many addresses are not used for anything in this ECU?

2. Under flags, what does AF Opt Wd 1- bit 0 - ManT mean? There's a setting for manual transmission in some of the other ECUs I was looking at (like $6E), but no obvious one in this ECU. Is it this flag? If yes, that'd mean one of my custom chips was burned for an automatic. That'd confuse the overdrive a bit...

3. Also under flags, what does AF Opt Wd 3 - Bit 5 IntR mean?
4. Still under flags, what does AF Opt Wd 4 - Bit 3 CCPi mean?

5. To turn off something (like the EGR), would that use a value of 0 or 255 ($FF)?

Is there a good reference for these flags? The two Chevy tuning books I have don't go into much detail about the ECU.

There may be data at those addresses but the data has not been defined in your ECU file...either they don't know what it is or don't care (not important)

the ManT is a manual trans flag... For the other flags...You may want to contact Tuner Cat (I assume that is what you are using to read/ modify the .bins) Some flags are for rear gear ratios, some are for VATS and others are for...who knows.
For EGR set it to max value...255. Other things will differ as to what turns them on and off.
