Default Rear tie rod?

I was replacing my u-joints and I was trying to get the tie rod out, it looks like the original and it is frozen. Anybody know of a way to get it out without using a sledge?

If your talking about the adjustment - I had to heat mine w/ a torch to break it loose.
If your talking about getting the end out - you have to use a puller to press it out of the knuckle. It is a press fit so it will take some force. Just go slow and it will eventually pop free.

I have had good results using an electric heat gun. The knuckle is aluminum and will expand at a quicker rate than the steel tie rod. I use a smaller tip attachment on the heat gun to concentrate the heat into a smaller area. First, loosen the nut on the tie rod until its flush with the end of the stud. Heat the knuckle area around the tie rod untill its fairly hot. You do not need to get it "smoking hot". One or two healthy raps with a hammer on the end of the tie rod (nut loosened flush) will usually pop the tie rod out of the knuckle.
