Rugby, I've used BFG Drag radials and M/T Drag radials on different cars i own.
On my vette i've used only M/T DR's and they truely do a very good job! I was very impressed with the performance of them. I think BFG's are just about as good as M/T's.
I've heard by many the Nitto's aren't as sticky as the BFG's and M/T's. I can't comment on the Nitto's so someone else will chime in with a accurate response.
Hoosier is making a drag radial now but i haven't seen it or heard of its performance yet. Maybe someone else will comment on the Hoosiers?
I've heard alot of good things about the micky thompson DR's.
I haven't tried the M/T's yet, but I hear they are just as good as the M/T ET Streets. The BFG drag radials are very sticky as well. Stay away from Nitto unless you drive more on the street than the track. The Nittos will last longer, but you need a longer burnout to get heat into them.

.........this brings up a question regarding street performance vs strip performance........usually on the street you don't stop and do a burnout to heat the tires........so what tire is best for the street for WOT traction at low speed/ red light start......
not racing of course.....just the ability to go full throttle at low speed without going into tire spin....
I really could use more traction on the street.......and an occasional trip to the strip

The BFG DR and the MT DR's are both awesome on the street. They have very low tire lifes though. I estimate a set of BFG's would only last 6k at the very most.

I think Mr Mojo's and the comments of others on drag radial street worthiness refers more to wet traction manners and wear characteristics than traction on the street.

I have been running BFG Drag Radials, year round on my DD for about 5 years now. I avoid snow, but I drive it 9 to 10 months of the year. I admit to keeping the tires on the car until you can see the air through the tread, but I think they are staying on the car for 25,000 to 30,000 miles. May through October it "sees" anywhere from 3 to a dozen passes a week.

the best ALL around tire i have used is a M&H Muscle Car drag tire. 305-40-16. This tire was good in the rain and hooked great at the track, and held it's own on the street.
I have seen pic's of cars launching on the hoosier drag radials too, they look real promising

You may want a drag specific tire/wheel pkg.
get a set of Centerlines and mount the BFG's (Or M/T).
That way you will keep your street maners/tires an switch to the drag package on weekends.
My two cents.
