Where does your trans sit relative to the top of the tunnel? Mine is actually above it by 1/4". I tried to find the spot where the cbeam was the straightest, but it seems too high. My cat flange didn't quite line up either. The bleed line is almost hitting the bottomside of the tunnel too.

Hmmm, I believe mine was down 1/4 to half inch. I can't run out and look now that it is all buttoned up, but that would be my best guess. Also, not saying this is the prettiest job, but I had the wrecking yard cut me a section of zf tunnel that I laid over my cut, with a rubber gasket sealed in between it and the car. I then drilled and screwed it into place. I thought if I ever wanted a access panel this would be the way to have it. Also the shifter rubber fits the hole nicely. Randy

Yup it looks like yours sits just a tad higher then mine, but not by much.

LOL you are not going to put clear plexiglass in so you can watch the driveline, road etc are you?

I feel ok with mine, it is solid, sealed and you can't see it with the carpet over it

You just gave me a great idea for working on the 700R4 governor.

Mine was no prize, either (I "formed" a piece of sheetmetal myself)

Definitely insulate / cover that hole well. I didn't do it right the first time and had a LOT of heat blasting up through the console.
