Does anyone make an off the shelf pair of 3" exhaust pipes I could buy so I can eliminate the Y-pipe? My Hookers have 3" collectors and run to 3" pipes into a Y-pipe,
I would like to dump the y-pipe, and run 3" pipes back to my magnaflows

question, do u think the 3 inch pipe is too much? i was just thinking about it........what do u think? meaning 3 inch will loss back pressure, and low end tq wont it?
Don't worry about not enough back pressure; all the tuning is done in the FL headers and collectors.
Ever notice how an engine dyno pull is setup? Mostly a set of FL headers with a realtively short section of collector-size pipe; and those people are after best overall results.
What is your engine build up?
How much expected peak HP at the crank?
Are you running cats?
What is the flow on those mufflers?

I have 3 inch all the way back. It's a custom job with X-pipe as well.
B&B is 3-inch isnt it? I dont know if its 3" all the way for LT1s though, you could take theirs and adapt it. Either way, its not just a simple bolt-on installation.
How much different is the L98s exhaust from the LTs. Here's my B&B 3inch w/xpipe.
Nice exhaust!
I went with a custom 3" setup using LTx hangers, Hedman headers, x-pipe, bullet cats and magneflow mufflers.
To use an LTx cat back on LD85's setup you may need to have some custom work done between the header collectors and where the cats used to be (beginning of the catback). I think even cutting up the y-pipe he'll be too short to mate to a catback system.
I'd say he's probably best going to a reputable exhaust shop and getting them to put some new pipes on.
I have all the GM partnumbers for the LTx hangers and D44. Let me know if you want me to dig them up.
